“Running towards danger whilst others might run away”
TWO Lancashire Constabulary police officers joined colleagues from across the country at the National Police Bravery Awards.
DC Karen Kenworthy and retired detective Damian McAlister were among 64 officers to be nominated for the prestigious event.
Karen described it as a “fantastic honour”.
The pair were among 64 police officers from England and Wales who were honoured for risking death and serious harm to protect the public.
Lancashire Police Federation Chairman Rachel Baines said it was a “very proud day for Lancashire Constabulary.”
She added: “These are such fantastic officers and they are really humbled to be here. We are so pleased they are here to represent Lancashire.
“It shows how brave British Police officers are. Running towards danger whilst others might run away – this occasion just highlights the brave work police officers carry out on a daily basis.
“I really hope they enjoy the day. They deserve it.”
