TWO Lancashire Constabulary police officers joined colleagues from across the country at the National Police Bravery Awards.<\/p>\n
DC Karen Kenworthy and retired detective Damian McAlister were among 64 officers to be nominated for the prestigious event.<\/p>\n
Karen described it as a \u201cfantastic honour\u201d.<\/p>\n
The pair were among 64 police officers from England and Wales who were honoured for risking death and serious harm to protect the public.<\/p>\n
Lancashire Police Federation Chairman Rachel Baines said it was a “very proud day for Lancashire Constabulary.”<\/p>\n
She added: “These are such fantastic officers and they are really humbled to be here. We are so pleased they are here to represent Lancashire.<\/p>\n
“It shows how brave British Police officers are. Running towards danger whilst others might run away \u2013 this occasion just highlights the brave work police officers carry out on a daily basis.<\/p>\n
